Ever find yourself saying ‘When I’ve got time I’m going to launch that product/write that book/develop that course/start that blog/do something? I know, you have dreams that you want to realise.
If you haven’t already figured it out, I’ve got news for you. You’re never going to have more time. The busyness of life and work never gives up.
You can find yourself still promising yourself you’ll get around to fulfilling your projects next month, next year, maybe even in five years. The trouble is, the more you put things off, the less likely you are to ever achieve them. The sad thing is many people never get to realise their dreams. Yet there are plenty of people that do.
What’s the difference between the people that fulfil their dreams and everyone else? Are they more intelligent? Luckier? Better in any way? No. The single difference is they’ve taken action. They’ve done it. And that is genuinely the only difference.
So if that’s all there is to it why doesn’t everyone take action?
Because, is short, big dreams feel like they’re going to take big effort to achieve. Big effort is overwhelming, and that overwhelm is what paralyses us. That’s what stops you moving forward.
And that’s where I come in.
I help you work in a way that enables you to achieve your goals in small bitesized chunks, eliminating overwhelm and keeping you moving until completion.
Small changes and small actions make a big difference.
I’ve made the mistakes everyone has made in the past, either putting things off for too long, or getting over motivated and setting myself ridiculous tasks that I couldn’t possibly sustain.
I’ve run my own business since 2005 and know all about the challenges of starting and running a business, the multiple hats you have to wear and how it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done.
After starting my first business in recruitment it came as a massive shock to me how much time I was spending on things other than doing the job, the thing I enjoyed and ultimately the thing I could earn money from.
In 2009 with my husband I co founded a business support company which I still run today. We set up this business so that small businesses could outsource their tasks to us and free up their time.
Since then we’ve helped thousands of small businesses up their productivity. The flip side of this is, if you’re behind the scenes working away to help others become more productive you’ve got to be twice as efficient yourself.
If you’re going to charge clients for doing a task they could do themselves and still be in profit you’ve got to do it quickly.
And if you want to fulfil other projects you’ve really got to get organised.
And if you don’t want to work longer hours, because you have other things in life, (I know, I have three kids, two dogs and two guinea pigs to look after for a start), you really have to be efficient, to be productive whilst keeping stress and burnout at bay.
I’ve become obsessed with productivity and over the last 8 years have read every resource I can find on the subject, I’ve taken courses and I’ve learned through myself through trial and error what works and what doesn’t.
I’ve learned how to squeeze the most out of every day and to be able to maintain this without getting burned out.
The secret? It’s not about working harder, it’s about doing less, but with focus and consistency.
